Pain is associated with tissue damage localized to tissues or parts of the body. Pain that arises is usually resolved by using Non Steroid Antiinflamatory Drugs (NSAIDs). The side effect that often arises in the use of NSAIDs is gastrointestinal disorders. This study aimed to see the analgesic activity of the infusion of stems and leaves of Cymbopogon nardus (L) Rendle. This research is a laboratory experimental and conducted on 25 male mice. Mice were randomly divided into five groups, namely Group I (negative control), Group II (positive control), Group III (Infusion dose 200 mg/kgBW, Group IV (Infusion dose 400 mg/kgBW) and Group V (Infusion dose 800 mg/kgBW). The test method used is a writhing test using acetic acid induction. Acetic acid was administered after 10 minutes intraperitoneally after treatment then observed the amount of stretching mice. Furthermore, the percent of protection for each group is calculated. The percent protection of Group II was 89.31%, Group III was 14.72%, Group IV was 30.45%, and Group V was 62.70%.
